We're getting ready for the fair!
Frank and Dr. Bob have gotten haircuts, baths and their hair blow dried. Who are Dr. Bob and Frank you ask? Well, they're cows, (steers actually), of course. They are owned and cared for by our 12 year old daughter! Dr. Bob is over 900 pounds and she has him trained like a puppy.
The girls did great at the fair. They both won their showmanship classes. One of the steers won best steer at the show. So they came home with 3 trophies. A good show for them! All that hard work pays off sometimes!
It's a boy! Well, actually a bull. He was born August 12th. He is black, beautiful and healthy. He weighed in at 90 pounds. It was pretty neat because we had visitors in the guest house that were anxiously awaiting his arrival too. They went with us thru the pasture searching for him and when we got back to the barn, another part of the search party had already brought him in with his mom. Our guests got to pet the brand new baby, less than one day old.
