Our oldest daughter made me a really cool quilt for my birthday. She brought it up last weekend to tease me I think. I say that because she took it back home with her. She wasn't quite done sewing the binding which she does by hand. It is a very neat pattern and she used dragonfly material. (I like dragonfllies, if you didn't guess.) Each of the squares on the front is a different dragonfly print. Just finding so many different materials must have been a challenge. I can't wait for her to finish her latest creation!! This is the second quilt she has made for us. The first is huge and she made it for our anniversary. She has been taught to quilt by her mother-in-law who seems to be a master quilter. She makes quilts that are much sought after and very beautiful. Our daughter is very ambitious, very creative, very giving and appears to be a fast learner when it comes to quilting.
I think it would be fun to invite a bunch of quilters to stay in the guest house so they could bond and quilt all weekend.
(I'll try to remember to post a photo of my new quilt when I get it.)

Wow-Thanks Mom. The quilt pattern is Satisfaction and it was an experiment to try and take a quilt class to make this quilt. I took the class at the Common Thread in New Preston, CT. It was fun but I think that I would prefer to take a class that has you complete an entire project in one sitting instead of just socializing during the class while I was cutting my materials.
P.S. My Mom-In-Law goes to some great quilt shows closeby to Benson and there are some great quilt shops nearby too. There is one in Middlebury and one in Poultney. There are several ladies in town that make quilts too.
What was said about quilters staying in the house is a great idea. My Mom-In-Law goes away on some great weekends. Everyone brings their machine and some projects. It is a weekend of good friends, good times, and good food. I agree that Falkenbury Farm Guest House would be a great place. If someone else doesn't get to it first I will get the Bantam, CT quilting group to stay up there for a certain weekend in June for a local quilt show!
This quilt is simply incredible.
